Adopt-a-flowerbed is an effort to encourage public involvement in ongoing community beautification. Volunteers / sponsors can plant, weed and care for park flowerbeds.
Duties & Expectations
The expectation is that the volunteer will plant the flowers (provided by the Park District), weed the flowerbed, water the flowers (3 times per week) and remove the plants and rake the bed after the first hard frost.
Tools
The Parks and Recreation Department will provide the bedding plants, all the fertilizer and insect and disease control products and provide planting and maintenance instructions.
Recognition
Adopt-a-Flowerbed signs will be placed next to the flowerbeds to recognize those volunteers who have taken part of their valuable time to keep our city beautiful.
