Memorial Program
How would you like a tree, sculpture, garden or even a bike rack to honor your friend or loved one? Now it’s possible with the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District Memorial Program. This is a gift that will benefit the community for years to come. The memorial is publicly recorded by the placement of an engraved plate on a special plaque at the District’s Administration Center.
TREES
Trees may be selected from the district’s recommended tree list, which consists of native trees that thrive in the Homewood-Flossmoor area.
• Trees such as oak, linden or hackberry trees - $300
• Evergreens such as a spruce, fir or pine - $350
Donors are invited to attend the planting ceremony which can be done Monday - Friday in the spring or fall. A photograph of each donated tree is placed in a memorial book kept at the Administration Center. For an additional fee (approximately $400), a personalized plaque honoring your friend or loved one is placed at the tree's base.
PARK EQUIPMENT
Another way to leave a legacy is through the purchase of a park bench, which includes a personalized plaque honoring your friend or loved one.

Park Donations
Each year the H-F Park District receives more than 150 requests for donations from non-profit organizations and individuals. Requests are reviewed and decisions are made weekly by a team of administrators. Although all causes are worthy of consideration, the park district — being a taxing body — must take into consideration its role of being a good steward of taxpayer dollars. With that in mind, the district tries to donate services to local organizations. The Park District does not make any financial contributions to any organization or charity.
