Join the South Suburbs' premier dog park and enjoy fun days with your dog and other canines from the Homewood and Flossmoor communities! This three-acre, fenced park offers:

  • A walking path around the entire park
  • Three park benches and two covered structures
  • A drinking fountain for humans and canines
  • A convenient, double-gated entry
  • A separate training area with its own entrance
  • Agility equipment

This park is open to both residents and non-residents, but it is a members-only based park. Rover's Run is located at 191st Street and Center Avenue, Homewood.

Membership Application Process

To get started, download a registration form by clicking here.

NEW APPLICANTS:

  1. Complete the 2023 registration form found on our website. Sign the front of the form; initial and sign the back of the form.
  2. Have your Vet sign the form.
  3. Include a copy of current vaccinations with expiration dates (all of those listed are required)
  4. If you are a park district resident and have not yet verified residency, include an ID and current utility bill that shows your name at your HF address (not required for non-residents).
  5. Email the above to abrabec@hfparks.com, fax to 708-957-8574 or drop off in the mail slot at Goldberg Administration office, 3301 Flossmoor Road.
  6. Fee is $30 Resident, $45 Non-Resident. Additional Dogs are $5 each. Payable by calling 708-957-0300 with a credit or debit card, or a check payable to H-F Park District mailed or dropped off at the Goldberg Administration Center.
  7. After paperwork and payment have been received and processed, a Rover’s Run dog tag and entry card will be issued and can be picked up by driving up to the Goldberg Center. Appointments for pick up are available on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 am - 3 pm.

RETURNING APPLICANTS:

  1. Complete the 2023 registration form. Sign the front of the form; initial and sign the back of the form.
  2. Vet’s signature is not required.
  3. Include a copy of current vaccinations with expiration dates (all of those listed are required)

REGULATIONS/PROCEDURES

These regulations are enforced for the safety of all park users and their dogs.

  • All dogs must be registered with the Homewood-Flossmoor Park District to use Rover’s Run.
  • Dog’s tag should be worn and visible at all times while at Rover’s Run.
  • Owners are responsible for the actions of their dog as well as any injury, damage to property, other dogs or the public.
  • Hours for use are sunrise to sunset.
  • For safety reasons, children must be at least 12 years of age, must be closely supervised, and will be expected to behave in an appropriate manner:  no chasing dogs, no petting of other dogs unless permission is requested from the owner first.
  • Please pick up dog feces and dispose of it in the waste receptacles located throughout the park.
  • Puppies must be at least four months old to use the park.
  • Dogs must be on a leash when outside of the fenced-in park, including to and from the parking lot.
  • Aggressive behavior will not be tolerated.  Repeated reports of aggression may result in loss of membership privileges.
  • Please do not bring rawhide or food into the dog area as dog fights may result.
  • Please remove pinch and spike collars from your dog prior to entering Rover’s Run.
  • Please cover any holes your dog digs.
  • A limit of two (2) dogs per person allowed at one time in Rover’s Run.
  • Rover’s Run is for dog owners and dogs only. Persons not engaged in dog-related activities are not allowed to use this area.
  • Vaccines must be kept current. There is a $5 reinstatement fee if updated vaccine records are not submitted within 30 days.
  • No refunds will be given for Rover’s Run. There is a $10 replacement fee for lost tags or cards.

TRAIL HOUNDS: DOG WALKING GROUP

Friendly canines of all ages, sizes, and breeds are welcome for these FREE on-leash walks. Socializing and being active are just some of the benefits. Walkers will also receive tips about exercising with your pets. Participate whenever you like; no registration is needed. Be sure to bring water for yourself and your dog. Owners 12 + years of age.
